Right around the same time I was switching gears from being a part-time employee/part-time blogger to a full-time blogger, I met someone who I very quickly grew to love. In a short amount of time, we went from being strangers to work partners. I want to introduce you to someone who has been helping me behind the scenes for the past three months.
Meet Kaylee Oates.
(soon to be Kaylee Hooks)
When I told Kaylee that I was transitioning to working my blog full-time, we also talked about what an ideal job would look like for her. She was fresh out of college and engaged to be married in April, so she was in a transitional stage herself. She told me that when she got settled (after she got married), she was interested in finding a job doing social media and PR marketing.
A match made in Heaven.
“How perfect!” I thought.
What Kaylee WANTED TO DO lined up perfectly with what I WAS LOOKING FOR SOMEONE TO DO!
We quickly made an agreement that I would pay her to help with some of the behind-the-scenes work of the blog up until she moved to Tennessee to marry her fiancé.
Since January, Kaylee has been focusing primarily on SEO (search engine optimization), Pinterest, Instagram, and some additional PR work for Meal Planning Mommies. If you follow MPM closely on Pinterest or Instagram you may have noticed that the activity level, and engagement, has been higher these last couple of months. We have Kaylee to thank for that!
Kaylee and I decided early on that as a blog, we could do a better job of sharing quality pins on Pinterest and share more inspirational quotes on Instagram. This was very natural fit for Kaylee because guess what… she loves this stuff! In fact, back in college when she decided she wanted to get healthier and lose some weight, she joined Weight Watchers!
Kaylee’s success story.
Message from Kaylee…
“In 2013, I decided to change my life and lose 95 pounds. I started my journey with Weight Watchers, which led to a passion for health and fitness. Ever since, I have immersed myself in the topic of well-being, and have been on a constant quest for health, peace, and contribution.”
Losing 95 pounds was just the beginning of Kaylee’s adventure to better health. She is serious about being the best version of herself and it shows. #goals
Kaylee’s contribution to MPM…
Kaylee’s life is an inspiration, so sharing inspirational quotes on Instagram was second nature for her. The quotes she has been sharing on the Meal Planning Mommies Instagram account were the very quotes that she knew would inspire and motivate her!
Here are just a few of the quotes Kaylee has been sharing on Instagram lately…
As you can see, Kaylee (Oates) Hooks enjoys passing on the wisdom and encouragement that feeds her spirit, and we are all better for it!
As Kaylee wraps up her time with Meal Planning Mommies, I wanted to point you to the face (and account) behind the messages…

This girl is insane… just saying…
Kaylee’s friends and family, who know about her love for health and fitness, have encouraged her to create her own Instagram account where she can share the things that she is excited about. If you are interested in keeping up with Kaylee, I would LOVE if you would follow her on Instagram where she will continue to share the things that she loves as it relates to health and fitness, as well as personal photos of her progress.
