Hey friends, Sarah Anne here!
Christmas is right around the corner. For the first time this year I have decorated our home for Christmas BEFORE Thanksgiving. I am certainly not trying to rush Christmas, in fact I am hoping to slow the Christmas season down a bit by decorating early! It always seems like a mad dash to Christmas once Thanksgiving is over. There are Christmas parties, concerts, shopping to do, friends and family to see and of course TONS of baking to do! My hope is that by having the house already decorated before Thanksgiving that we will be able to take a weekend to breathe slow instead of dashing around decorating. I’ll let you know if I feel like it made a difference this year!
I love talking Kitchen gadgets. I find it interesting to hear from others what their most useful kitchen gadget it and what makes their cooking a bit more efficient. So I wanted to create a “Things I have currently and love” along with “Things items I am asking for this year” Christmas Kitchen Wish list for you! All items can be found on amazon and linked up with our affiliate links. Maybe this will give you some ideas of gifts for you or those you love! Enjoy!
This is a kitchen item that just a few months ago I didn’t even know existed. The Instant pot can take the place of your crock pot, rice cooker, yogurt maker, steamer, pressure cooker, sautee/browner and warmer. The instant pot has a setting to allow you to delay cooking times and then to stop cooking and keep your food warm until you are ready to serve. It currently has a 4.5/5 star rating on Amazon with over 4,500 reviews. Carrots can be steamed in 2-3 minutes, steam potatoes for mashed potatoes in 15 minutes and 35-40 minutes to cook a roast. The price is higher than a crock pot, but I just can’t seem to find a bad review. Everyone who has one, loves it! This would make a great gift for anyone who wants to make healthy, quick food but doesn’t have lots of time to spend cooking. I would love to hear from you about your experiences with the Instant Pot. Comment and share with me if you own one and what you like or dislike about it.
I love my huge wooden cutting board that sits on my kitchen island, but after I am done chopping up my veggies to add to soup it is such a pain to scoop all my diced veggies and carry them over to my soup pot. The cutting board is just too big to carry over there and dump everything in all at once. This scrape shovel is exactly what I need to solve this problem! It’s a really good deal right now on amazon and would make a great gift for anyone who like to make things more efficient in the kitchen.
3. Kitchen Aid Classic Stand Mixer
This is something I got for Christmas about 4 years ago and I don’t regret it one bit. At first I really debated getting a stand mixer.
I mean do I really need one more thing on my counter? I really couldn’t understand why I need to pay 5 times more for a stand mixer when I already had a hand held mixer that worked so great. Now that I have switched to a stand mixer, I will never go back. It is worth the precious counter space to leave the brownies mixing on their own for 2 minutes while I spray the pan (I know you are supposed to do that first… but I always forget!). It is worth it to have a mixer that can knead your pizza or bread dough (so worth it!). Or a mixer that can whip up your meringue with ease. This would be a great gift for yourself or that loved one who loves to bake, but could use a break in the kitchen.
One thing that I do not do regularly is sharpen my knives. Technically, if you use your knives every day then you are supposed to sharpen them every week. Yes… every week. I have to admit that since I got my knife set a few years ago I have not sharpened them once. Not once. So, I think it is appropriate that I ask for a knife sharpener as it is a while lot cheaper than getting a new knife set! This is one I found highly ranked on amazon, but I would love to hear if any of you have a knife sharpener you own and love!
One more thing I cannot live without in my kitchen is my food chopper. This chopper diced onion, celery, garlic… whatever you want just by pushing down on the top. I use it mainly for onions to reduce the amount of tears! If you don’t have one, you need to add it to your Christmas list. If your mom, mother-in-law, sister, aunt or best friend does not own a food chopper it is an economical, practical gift that will be used weekly! Trust me!
Now it’s your turn! I would love to hear about your “can’t live without” kitchen gadget!
Please, please, please (ok… I am begging now!) comment and share to give us ALL a few more useful Christmas gift ideas!

I use my crockpots all the time. I seem to have more energy to put into a meal in the morning than I do at night. My mom bought me the Ninja 3 in 1 cooker. I love it because I can brown my meats and then add the rest of the ingredients and put it on slow cook. I have not tried baking with it yet. Here is the Amazon link

Thanks for the ideas. I don’t have a few of those and I think I really need them. haha

I actually just bought that exact knife sharpener. Ordered a set of steak knives from Amazon and the sharpener popped up in “others also ordered…”. I, too, have been neglectful in sharpening my knives. The one you pictured works great and was very inexpensive.

Lara, I am so glad to hear that the knife sharpener I picked works great! It is so helpful to hear other people’s experiences with actually using an item in their kitchen! Thanks for letting me know! Happy Thanksgiving!
