Update: This giveaway has ended. Congratulations to Melissa C. for winning the Cuisinart SSL-100 Prep Express Slicer, Shredder and Spiralizer! 🙂
I hope you are liking our giveaways so far! This series of giveaways has been our way of saying, “Thank you” to our MPM readers. We wanted an opportunity to bless some of our readers with products that we LOVE from brands that we believe in. Just our little way of saying “Thank you!” We really do have some awesome people in the MPM community, and it is rare that I take the time to really appreciate our readers. So, thank you, for doing life with me.
Let me tell you about our giveaway of the day that I think you will absolutely love!
I am going to start this giveaway with the video that made me reach out to Cuisinart, asking them to consider sponsoring this giveaway. There were several of you who mentioned that you wanted a spiralizer when I asked what things you wish you had in your kitchen, so I went on a hunt to see what was out there, and in my search, I came across this video, and it totally sold me on the Cuisinart spiralizer. It can do a LOT more than just spiralize, which is both fun and practical.
Check out the video to see for yourself:
This thing does it all, and it is super easy to use… and to clean. By using 4 different cutting cones and 2 different feeding tubes (provided with the shredder, slicer, spiralizer), you are able to slice, ribbon, crinkle cut, thin shred, wide shred, and make spaghetti sized noodles out of vegetables!
Makes eating vegetables fun!
We all know we should be eating more vegetables, but many of us aren’t sure the best ways to do that. One way to sneak vegetables into your diet is to replace other foods with them, like in our Cheesy Italian Cauliflower Bake where cauliflower is the star of the recipe. One of the most popular ways to eat more vegetables right now is through spiralizing them, like by using zoodles (zucchini noodles) in place of pasta. With this shredder/slicer/spiralizer, you are going to WANT to eat your vegetables because of all the fun ways you can prepare them! It really does feel like a toy for adults… but not just for adults…
Even my son can use this… in fact, he WANTS TO!
My youngest son, Kipton, decided he wanted to help me. He was begging to help, actually. You see, he was home when my big package was dropped off at the door. I was anticipating getting my slicer, shredder, spiralizer, and I couldn’t wait to open it up and try it out. Kipton shared in my excitement and he loved that I was getting a new “machine.”
If you have checked out my Tuna Zucchini cakes recipe since I updated it then you know that I used this Slicer/Shredder/Spiralizer the last time I made them. I used the cone and feeding tube that shreds vegetables. To cut down on time, I went ahead and used it for my onions as well as my zucchini. It was so simple and efficient.
I was happy to see that it was as easy to use as it looks in the video above, but even happier when I realized how easy it was to clean! It’s dishwasher safe and comes apart with no trouble at all (refer to video above to see how easy it is to take apart).
The shredder/slicer/spiralizer does the work, so you don’t have to.
Let me just tell you… you will LOVE the simplicity of this “machine.” It’s electric, so all you have to do is put the vegetables in and push the feeding tube down as it does all the work for you. Shredding zucchini and chopping onions was actually fun, and completely safe, which made me comfortable with my son helping.
Electric spiralizers are just better than hand-cranking spiralizers. That’s all there is to it. The only spiralizer I had until now was a hand crank one, and this spiralizer puts my hand-crank one to shame. To be perfectly honest, I was so happy to get rid of my old spiralizer after receiving this new one.
How we used ours in our Tuna Zucchini Cakes.
Okay, so let me show you what we were able to do with the vegetables in the Tuna Zucchini Cakes recipe using our Cuisinart shredder cone (the maroon cone) and the angled feeding tube.
We chopped up onion in seconds…
And we shredded zucchini in seconds too!
Isn’t that pretty? There is something strangely satisfying about seeing vegetables cut perfectly, don’t you think?
So many functions in such little space.
You’ll love how versatile and compact this is. Everything fits together nice and neat. Like I said earlier, there are 4 slicing blades. All of the cone shaped blades nest inside each other, and then they fit into the bowl, making storage easy.
