This ground turkey stroganoff is a kid-friendly dinner that your whole family will love!
Ground turkey is sautéed with mushrooms, onion, and garlic. Then, the beef gravy, sour cream, and red cooking wine are cooked in with the meat mixture. The result is a creamy, flavorful ground turkey stroganoff that gets served on a pile of egg noodles. YUM!
About the beef gravy.
A key ingredient to this recipe is the jar of beef gravy. It’s perfect for stroganoff! I used Heinz Fat-Free Savory Beef Gravy (It’s so good!), but any fat-free beef gravy will work.
Testimonials.
I had the pleasure of sharing this dinner with a couple of my friends this week, and their responses were everything:
1. “Don’t like ground turkey? Try this recipe and it will change your mind.”
One friend said, “This is really good! I have never had a recipe with ground turkey that I liked before, but I really like this! You should let everyone know that if they thought they didn’t like ground turkey, they should give this recipe a try!”
2. “You have a new fan!”
Okay, so this response came from a friend whose daughter asked to try it and ended up eating the whole thing. She is eleven years old. You guys…I have an eleven year old fan! That’s something, right?
3. “Can you tell me the ingredients for the turkey stroganoff?”
Friend #1 just could not wait for the recipe to get on the blog. A couple of days after she tried it, she texted me asking what ingredients I used. I told her it would be on the blog soon, and she said, “Oh, but I was going to make it tonight. Could you just text me what ingredients you used?” I took a picture of my messy recipe notebook where I scribble down all of my recipes and sent it to her.
That last one is my favorite. When I make a recipe and the friend I share it with can’t wait to make it themselves, then I have accomplished my goal.
So, how about you? Do you want to join the “Meal Planning Mommies Ground Turkey Stroganoff fan club”?
Great! I made you a shirt…
… well…not really a shirt. More like a picture of what a shirt could look like. Although, I must admit, I am tempted to have these shirts printed for the friends I mentioned in this email now that I am seeing this.
Of course, before you can be a member of the fan club, you have to try the recipe, so let’s get right to it!
