Over the past couple of weeks I shared some waist-slimming foods, recipes, and ideas. One of the nice things about Weight Watchers is that you can eat just about anything and still lose weight, as long as you pay attention to portions and you balance out the good stuff with the “not-so-good” stuff. The nice thing about planning a week’s worth of low smart point dinners is that I can eat the birthday cake at my son’s birthday party and not think twice about it.
Stretch yourself this week.
The brussel sprout soup (Chicken and Mushroom soup) was a stretch for me the first time I made it. I assumed I wasn’t going to like it. I never ate brussel sprouts as a kid, so when I tried it I was really surprised at how I enjoyed each bite. I felt proud that I could be a person who says, “Yeah, I eat brussel sprouts! What?!” (of course I ate the cake later, but whatever! I ate brussel sprouts! That’s all that matters.) 😉
“You’ll Love Our Culture.”
I surprised my daughter on Wednesday night after church. Instead of going straight home she and I made a stop at our frozen yogurt shop that she has been asking to go to. The frozen yogurt place by where we live is called, “YoMazing” and our kids love it. The colors are bright and everything about it screams, “kid-friendly”. They sell lots of different flavors of frozen yogurt (they even have pumpkin flavored yogurt as an option right now).
(Pictured below: My daughter posing in front of the wall of different flavors of yogurt you can buy…. and by “posing” I mean “dancing”.)
Did I mention she was excited?
After you load up your yogurt at the yogurt station you pile on your toppings at the toppings station.
Then you pay by the ounce, and sit down and eat. Check out this sign on the wall behind where my daughter was sitting. The sign on the wall says that the health benefits of yogurt are bone strength, immunity booster, packed with protein, lower your cholesterol, and digestion. I really wasn’t going there just to be healthy. Rather, I was going because I wanted to surprise my daughter with some girl time. It being healthy was just a little bonus. Don’t you love when that happens? 🙂
Because I was referring all week to foods that lead to a healthy gut and yogurt is definitely on the list of things that are good for your stomach, I thought I would share this. Under the word digestion (on this sign below) it says this, “The ‘good bacteria’ in our frozen yogurt aids in digestion and helps support a healthy colon. You’ll love our culture.” As far as smart points go the frozen yogurt probably isn’t a whole lot less than ice cream, maybe. I am not sure, but I wasn’t counting. Instead I just enjoyed the time with my daughter.
YASSO . . . DESSERT WITH BENEFITS.
Is there a frozen yogurt place close to you? If there isn’t Yasso is a brand of Greek frozen yogurt bars that taste DELISH and you can buy them in your grocery store. (I think we got them at Target when I got them). My favorite is the coffee chocolate chip, but they are all good!
You can go here to see what other flavors Yasso makes. (they all taste great) Join their “Fan Rewards Program” here. You know what else is fabulous? If your store doesn’t carry Yasso bars, the makers of Yasso have made it incredibly easy for you to request that your store carry them by creating a request form that you can print off, fill out and take to the manager of the grocery store you go to. You can get to the request form here.

Your meals and photos are so beautiful and I really want to join WW! The thing is, I used to be in it, and I ate like the program for a good while after I left, but with all the updates I want to go back! Lord knows I can use it now!!!
Unfortunately I have multiple allergies and wheat and dairy are two of them. Unless the points are the same (but I seriously doubt it) for wheat free / gluten free breads, wraps and the non dairy cheeses I have to use, but I think the points would be through the roof ! They have way more carbs and fats than the original ones!!!
Your daughter is adorable! 🙂

Hey Tess, I am sorry that I don’t know a whole lot about the frustrations of finding gluten free and dairy free options, but I can imagine that would be incredibly difficult to do both. If you have some specific types of breads/wraps/non-dairy cheeses in mind you would like me to check in the WW app to see how many points they are I would have happy to do that for you. Just comment here and I will get back to you by replying to your comment, of you can email me at alisha @ mealplanningmommies.com. And thanks for the compliment! 🙂
