If you love the taste of lasagna but don’t love the hassle of making it, this slow cooker lasagna is for you. This is one of my husband’s favorite slow cooker meals. Because it makes a lot I have served it when we were feeding big crowds and when I needed to bring a main dish to a potluck. Each time I make it it gets gobbled up and people ask for the recipe. I decided to share the recipe on here so I can send it to my friends when they ask for it. If you are serving your family and you end up with more than you can eat that might not be a bad thing, since this lasagna reheats well, making great leftovers the next day.
No fuss Crock Pot lasagna.
The truth is I have never been a big fan of making lasagna because I don’t like to mess with cooking the noodles and having them fall apart on me when I try to lift them out of the pot and who wants to deal with noodles sticking together? Too much work. The thing I love about this recipe is that is really is effortless. Anyone can make this lasagna with great results. There is no cooking the noodles ahead of time. You just plop them in the slow cooker uncooked and the sauce does the work for you. Easy peasy.
Hope you enjoy this as much as our family does! 🙂
- 1/2 box uncooked lasagna noodles
- 1 lb. 90-99% lean ground beef, browned and drained
- 1 small tub of ricotta cheese
- 2 jars of pasta sauce
- 3 c. shredded mozzarella cheese
- Italian seasoning (optional)
- Preparing this lasagna requires several layers of ingredients. Here is the order of the layers:
- Put down a small layer of sauce on the bottom of the crock-pot.
- Single layer of uncooked noodles. (you will have to break them to fit in the crock-pot)
- Layer of sauce (enough to cover the noodles completely)
- Layer of 1/2 of the meat.
- Layer of 1/2 of the Ricotta. (Doesn’t have to be perfect. I just spoon it on in globs and press down with the back of a spoon)
- Layer of half of the mozzarella.
- Layer of sauce.
- Layer of noodles.
- Layer of sauce.
- Layer of the rest of the meat.
- Layer of the rest of the ricotta.
- Layer of noodles.
- Cover noodles completely with the rest of the sauce.
- Cover with remaining mozzarella.
- Sometimes I sprinkle Italian seasoning on the top, but it is not necessary.
- Cover and cook on low for 4 hours.
I first shared this recipe back when I was not doing Weight Watchers. I have not calculated the number of smart points per serving for this crock pot lasagna. If you are interested in a lasagna type recipe that is low in smart points you might like this lasagna soup recipe that is just 4 smart point per serving here.
