Because our kids are busy with soccer, school, and friends and I am busy with kids, work, and life, I have been intentionally sneaking some easy recipes into our personal meal plans lately. This recipe wins the prize for being the easiest recipe I have made in a really long time. After marinating six ingredients, you can have this dinner cooked up in just one easy step!
Who is ready for some good old steak and veggies? The sweetness from the honey mixes perfectly with the tang of the Teriyaki sauce in this simple Steak and Veggies recipe. You will definitely want to save this recipe for one of those nights when you don’t have the time or energy to make a complicated meal. Instructions are given for air frying and sautéing.
Looking for a quick and easy freezer meal?
This can also be a freezer meal. Instead of mixing the ingredients and putting them in the refrigerator to marinate, you can stick the bag in the freezer and save it for another day. Then, when you are ready, simply let it thaw in the fridge the morning you will be using it. In fact, if you want to be really efficient, you can triple the ingredients and then bag and freeze them into three separate bags, giving you multiple nights of dinners that are easy to grab when you need a quick meal.
To bulk up the meal, you can add more veggies.
You may look at a full bag of veggies and think it looks like a lot, but once it cooks down, it really doesn’t seem so big anymore. If you like, you can use two bags per one pound of steak and still have great results!
Here is what you need:
1 pound lean top sirloin steak, cut into bite-sized cubes
1 (12 ounce) bag frozen Asian vegetable medley
1/2 cup chopped onion (about 1/2 of an onion)
1/4 cup teriyaki sauce
1 tablespoon honey
2 garlic cloves, minced
Here is what you do:
Mix all of the ingredients in a zip-close, gallon-sized bag. Marinate 4-8 hours in the refrigerator.
If cooking on the stove-top, heat grill or sauté pan to medium heat. Cook 8-10 minutes or until steak is fully cooked, stirring occasionally.
If cooking with an air fryer, preheat air fryer to 400°F. Add steak and vegetables to the air fryer basket and cook for 9-10 minutes, or until steak is fully cooked.
Makes 4 cups.
One serving is 1 cup.
1 cup is 4 Green, 4 Blue, and 4 Purple points.

Confused about the points. I get 8 smart points for this dish. Only thing that seems to partly explain the difference is the corn in the vegetables. (FreeStyle). The other ingredients seem to be the same count as in the smart point calculations. Any ideas why the difference?

Hi Paula, I am not sure. I will let you know what I put into my WW recipe builder and then you can see if maybe we are entering it differently… 1 pound uncooked lean flank steak = 13 SP, 1 Tbsp. honey = 4 SP, 1/4 cup teriyaki sauce = 3 SP, and 12 oz. unprepared frozen mixed Asian vegetables = 0 SP… then divide by 4 servings, for a total of 5 WW SP per serving. Hope this helps!

Thank you for your response – I appreciate knowing the points for the entree. It seems like the difference is in the flank steak points . I got 19 points instead of 13. I used Calculator cat.com in calculating those smart points. I will move on! I appreciate your entrees so much and make quite a few meals from your site. Thank you again. PB

We are having this for the second time tonight. Besides being so incredibly easy, it tastes great too. In fact, I haven’t tried anything from your free 1-week menu plan that we haven’t either really liked or loved! AND, the prep is so incredibly easy that I love spending so much less time in the kitchen than I used to. I purchased your 2nd volume of recipes and ready to start on them soon.
