We want to take a moment to thank those of you who have traveled the journey of 2016 along with us!
It has been a very special year in the Anderson home as they celebrated, and then learned how to adjust to, the arrival of their long-awaited, precious adopted daughter. As Sarah sunk herself into the challenges and joys that came with adding a new daughter to the family, Alisha took the reins on the blog for a while. As a result, all of the the posts that rose to the top of the list this year are Weight Watcher related.
Our hottest posts in 2016 were consistently the ones that helped Weight Watcher members stay on track. This is a list of our top ten posts (with links) in the reverse order of their popularity, starting with the tenth most visited post and working our way to the NUMBER ONE TOP VISITED post. Here are your favorite MPM posts in 2016. . .
MEAL PLANNING MOMMIES’ TOP TEN BLOG POSTS OF 2016.
10. List of Low Smart Point Bread and Buns.
Most store-bought bread and buns are between 2-6 Weight Watcher smart points per slice, but there are several brands that offer lighter options! My favorite brand of bread and buns right now is the “Healthy Life” brand. It has been brought to my attention that this brand is not in all stores. For that reason I have decided to put together a list of the lowest smart points breads and buns you will find in your grocery store. I hope this list makes navigating your way through the bread aisle easier.
9. 14 Weekly Weight Watcher Friendly Meal Plans.
To celebrate when we hit our 14th meal plan I decided to do a “link up” post with our first 14 Weight Watcher friendly meal plans that included smart points. That was over 3 months of meal plans! We continued to crank out new meal plans since then and we currently have 23 WW friendly meal plans with smart points available on Meal Planning Mommies!! That is almost a half of a year of meal plans!! To see all of the WW meal plans you can go here.
8. 20+ Cereals that are low in Weight Watcher Smart Points.
At first glance, it can be hard to know which cereals are going to be low in smart points. You can go down the aisle and pick up every box of cereal and scan the bar code to find the smart points, but who has time for that? Whether you are looking for a quick afternoon snack or an easy breakfast idea, this list will help you navigate that long cereal aisle. All of the cereals on this list are 4 Smart points or lower per serving.
7. Quick and Easy Breakfast Ideas with Weight Watcher Smart Points.
This is a list of breakfast ideas that are low in Weight Watcher Smart Points and are quick, easy, smart and healthy-ish. This post comes with a printable PDF of the list that you can take to the store and/or refer back to as needed.
6. More Smart Desserts with WW Smart Points.
Are you looking for some sweet snack/dessert ideas that are low in smart points? One of the complaints that people had when Weight Watchers switched to smart points was that they felt like they couldn’t eat sweets without throwing off their whole plan. This is a list of convenient dessert ideas you can find in your store that are less than 5 Weight Watcher smart points per serving. The reason it says “MORE” smart desserts is because I did a separate post of a handful of desserts you can make/bake that are 4 smart points per serving or less. For that list you can go here.
5. Smart Lunches with Low Weight Watcher Smart Points.
This list is easy. It’s grab-and-go food, that takes little forethought and hardly any prep time. I have put together over 30 lunch combinations. That’s over a month’s worth of lunches! I hope you are able to find some things on this list that can help make your lunch time smooth, guilt-free, and delicious! Each of these lunch combinations is worth between 2-9 Weight Watcher Smart Points.
4. Weight Watcher Friendly Meal Plan with Smart Points #1.
Weight Watchers had just launched a new system called “Beyond the Scale” at the time of me posting this meal plan. The new system was setting many of the Weight Watcher members into a frantic whirlwind of trying to figure out how, and what, to eat. For this reason, this particular meal plan quickly circulated across the internet very quickly. It’s a great meal plan, but not any better than the rest of the meal plans on MPM, in my opinion. Timing just happened to work in our favor on this one.
3. Weight Watcher Friendly Meal Plan with Smart Points #2.
Everything I said about meal plan #1 also applies to this meal plan. People jumped on this one, and were eager to share it with their friends. As of right now this post has been shared more than 10,000 times on Pinterest alone! This is our most popular meal plan, by far.
2. Smart Fast Food with Weight Watcher Smart Points (10 SP of less).
The nice thing about Weight Watchers is that it helps you to develop some awareness of what is smart to eat and what isn’t. I used to think I had a pretty good handle on what was healthy and what wasn’t, but then when I looked things up on the WW app and I was surprised at what I found! This is a list of “Smart Fast Food Choices with Ten or Less Weight Watcher Smart Points”. In addition, with each fast food restaurant I share one food on the menu that is shockingly high in smart points that you will want to steer clear of.
and our NUMBER ONE TOP MPM POST is….
1. Smart Snacks with Weight Watcher Smart Points.
This is a list of a quick snack ideas that are worth 4,3,2, or 1 Weight Watcher Smart Point(s). Add these snacks to your grocery list to keep smart snacks you can grab quick in your kitchen. This list comes with a PDF of the list that you can print off. Keep this list where you can see it so you can remember what snacks you have on hand and how many points they are worth. Cross the snacks off as you run out of them. If it helps can use Sarah’s printable snack chart to fill in your own snack ideas.
And there you have it. Our top ten posts of 2016. If you know someone who is trying to stay on their Weight Watcher plan in 2017 be sure to share this post with them. They will love you for it! 🙂
